Select Fresh Produce Inc. is a family-owned wholesale produce distributor based in Downtown Los Angeles, specializing in fruits, vegetables, chiles, dry goods, and dairy products. Our roots trace back generations to Mexico, where our founder, Mario Alvarez Sr., learned the trade from his father and grandfather, who were also produce business owners.
In 1967, Mario Alvarez Sr. emigrated from Mexico to the United States with his small family. With his extensive knowledge and experience, he started Select Fresh Produce in Los Angeles in 1981. Today, we are proud to say that we are still a family-owned and operated business, going strong for five generations.
At Select Fresh Produce, we are passionate about the food culture in Los Angeles, which is rich and diverse. As wholesalers in the produce industry, we are dedicated to working with other businesses and restaurants, helping them succeed and grow.
